Sean Jones is one of the great jazz trumpeters of our time. A former first trumpet player for the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra and a current member of the SFJAZZ Collective, Jones is also a renowned leader of hard-swinging small groups. He has appeared at Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola as a high-profile special guest and sideman over the years, but this is a rare chance to see him lead his own group—featuring up pianist Orrin Evans, bassist Luques Curtis, drummer Mark Whitfield, Jr., and saxophonist Brian Hogans—in our most intimate concert space. Watching Jones perform is always a masterclass in trumpet technique and bold but tasteful improvisation. He’s here Friday through Sunday, so make a reservation early or try your luck at the door!
